Excelsior Hotel Baku is a luxurious five-star landmark of Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. The Excelsior hotel has been granted 5+ stars by the government and they definitely deserve that. This is certainly the most beautiful and luxurious hotel in Baku. Generally hotel has a very unusual design. Lobby reminds a theater scene, the largest and the highest corridors one could ever find in the hotel will make you feel like you are in Art Gallery.
But the slight problem is that hotel is far outside Baku city centre, which means it is quite isolated. If you would like to see and enjoy Baku it will involve unavoidable taxi rides.

Excelsior Hotel Baku offers 61 guest rooms divided into several categories. There are 45 Heritage (conventional) Rooms, 9 Duke Rooms, 4 Crown Suites, 2 Royal Suites and 1 Imperial Suite.
Rooms are very large, with dark wood floors, huge beds and beautiful bathroom with Jacuzzi. All rooms have top notch sealy beds with the best Frette linen one can find.
All rooms are equipped with central air conditioning with individual climate control, electronic keys, personal safe, dual line phones with voicemail and speakerphone, computer and fax connections, high-speed Internet access, mini-bars, bathrobes and slippers in the bathroom, bath accessories and services for cleaning / ironing, laundry, dry cleaning, concierge and room services, currency exchange, help with luggage and secretarial services.
Service Standards at Excelsior Hotel Baku
Excelsior Hotel Baku has a top notch service. You are welcomed by the very friendly staff (lot of Filipinos) and offered cold towel as well as a welcome cocktail while check-in. As soon as you stepped in to the hotel you feel that you are special.
Belvedere restaurant and German Chef definitely will impress your guests over business lunch. Breakfast is very good.
The Aura wellness centre is an absolute masterpiece, world class, it alone makes it worth staying at the Excelsior. It is amazing, top notch cardio equipment, personal fitness trainers, indoor and outdoor pools, relaxation areas and superb massages by a team of local and Philippine masseuses.
In all, the Excelsior is by far the most luxurious and refined hotel in the South Caucasus. But there are still problems. It is far outside the city centre, which means it is quite isolated. If you would like to see and enjoy Baku it will involve unavoidable taxi rides.
