Day 1.
Baku. The excursion starts by visiting the Fire-worshippers Temple in Atashgakh, which is situated within 20 km from the center of the city. You will also visit a burning hill side - Yanar Dag, fortress in Mardakan and Mir Movsum Aga Mosque in Shuvelyan. After the dinner the excursion goes on to the center of the city where tourists can visit Icheri Shekher (The Old City) and learn about the famous Maiden Tower and Palace of Shirvanshakhs (15th century) where the mosque, the bath-house and entrance gates have been wonderfully preserved.
Day 2.
Departure from Baku to Nij through Shemakha and Lagij. In the town of Shemahkha you will have the opportunity to visit such historical-architectural monuments as Juma Mosque (19th century), Yeddi Gumbez(Seven Domes) and observatory of the great scientist N. Tusi, where one can see one of the biggest and ancient telescopes. Then transfer to Lagij. A short tour there followed by transfer to nearby Galagig mountainous settlement. Accommodation in private house. Taste homemade breakfasts and dinners with locally made bread, cheese, butter, meat&poultry. Good chance to see the way of life of ordinary Azeris in remote rural area.
Day 3.
Departure for Sheki through Nij. The program includes visiting the historical museum and Albanian church in the Nij village. The program in Sheki starts by visiting the Palace of Sheki khans, Historical museum, Albanian church of 5-6th century, workshop of shebeke-wood engraving without use of nails, workshop on production of Sheki halvah(from thinly cut pastry made from rice flour).
After delicious dinner in the local restaurant (the cuisine here differs considerably from that of the other regions of Azerbaijan) you will visit the silk production factory and the Albanian church preserved in Kish village. Stay at hotel in Sheki.
Day 4.
Departure from Sheki to Baku through Sheki Bazar, Gobustan and mud volcanoes. After finishing this tour arrival to Baku and rest in Alstadt Hotel.
