A presentation ceremony of the international online magazine “Carpet” (www.xalca.az) was held in the Azerbaijan State Museum of Carpet and Folk Applied Arts. The online magazine supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism was established by the Azerbaijani Carpet Makers` Union.
Addressing the event, director of the Azerbaijan State Museum of Carpet and Folk Applied Arts, Honored Cultural Worker, Professor Roya Tagiyeva provided information on the international online magazine. “The main aim of the magazine presented in three languages - Azerbaijani, Russian and English - is to educate world community on ancient and modern Azerbaijani and Eastern carpets,” she added.
Roya Tagiyeva underlined that the Azerbaijani Carpet Makers` Union`s aim is to ensure solution of ongoing problems of carpet weaving, cooperation of Azerbaijani carpet makers with local and international organizations, protection, development and popularization of the national carpet weaving art.
Scientific secretary of the Azerbaijan State Museum of Carpet and Folk Applied Arts Farida Novruzova informed participants on the online magazine. Head of Cultural Policy Department at the Culture and Tourism Ministry Fikrat Babayev delivered speech on the antiquity of the carpet art stressing the importance of the online magazine.
