Azeri Minister of Tourism Meets Chief of World Tourism Organization
Azerbaijani Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev met with Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization, UNWTO Taleb Rifai,Garayev updated UNWTO Secretary on the tourism opportunities in the country.
He pointed out President Ilham Aliyev keeps this sector in focus of his attention and 2011 was designated as Year of Tourism by presidential order.
The Minister thanked Rifai for supporting Azerbaijan in election of Azerbaijan as vice-president of UNWTO General Assembly Rifai tourist inflow in Azerbaijan in first half of 2011 is higher than in other countries. Azerbaijan is building tourism facilities.
The Secretary General touched upon experience exchange in human resources development in this sector.
