World Tourism Organization accepted Azerbaijan as a visiting member
Within the Year of Tourism the Ministry of Culture & Tourism of Azerbaijan is taking steps aiemd at developing tourism industry, promote country’s tourism potential at the international level, improve staff potential, create alternative directions of tourism and foster international cooperation.
The Ministry reports that within the framework of international cooperation, the Azerbaijan Institute of Tourism, Baku Tourist Information Centre and the Association of Tourism of Azerbaijan have become "invited members" of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
All the three domestic organizations have got the right to participate in international conferences, programs and other activities of UNWTO.
