Azerbaijan, Iraq plan to sign document on tourism cooperation
Azerbaijan and Iraq discussed cooperation in tourism.
The discussions were held at a meeting between the Azerbaijani Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfas Garayev and Iraqi ambassador to Azerbaijan, Heydar Shiya Gubeyshi Al-Barrak, the Culture and Tourism Ministry said.
At the meeting, Heydar Al-Barrak offered to sign a memorandum of understanding aimed at developing relations in the tourism sphere, especially in organizing pilgrimages.
Besides, at the meeting the sides discussed the Iraqi Tourism and Historical Monuments Minister’s visit to Azerbaijan in July to negotiate and sign the memorandum. Later the sides exchanged views on opening of charter flights between Baku and Najaf, promoting visits of Iraqi tourists to Azerbaijan, global issues and other topics of mutual interest.
