Azerbaijan showcased its tourism potential in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The event brought together about 60 tour operator of Argentina for Europe and Asia, representatives of authoritative tourist associations and mass outlets.
Addressing the ceremony, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Argentina Mammad Ahmadzadeh informed participants about tourism potential of Azerbaijan. He added the year 2011 was designated as the Year of Tourism according to order of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. Mr. Ahmadzadeh expressed his confidence that Azerbaijan would be one of destinations for Argentine tourists and he stressed this sector`s development is in the focus of Azerbaijan`s government attention.
Speaking at the ceremony, chairman of the Azerbaijan State Customs Committee, customs service Lieutenant-General Aydin Aliyev touched upon tourism opportunities of the country and progress achieved in development of tourism. Mr. Aliyev invited Argentine tourists to Azerbaijan to see fascinating beauties of the country. He highlighted the importance of tour operators` work in this field.
Participants were handed over materials and books on Azerbaijan tourism potential.
The event featured “Azerbaijan unforgettable country” film, photo exhibition reflecting cultural-historical monuments and national carpets of the country, Azerbaijani cuisine and national musicians.
