Summarizing of the First National Exhibition of Azerbaijan in Uzbekistan
The first national exhibition of Azerbaijan, held November 5-7 at the largest exhibition complex in Uzbekistan - Tashkent "Uzexpocenter, showed great interest in government agencies and entrepreneurs at all levels of the two countries to forge bilateral cooperative ties.
The exhibition was organized by the Ministry of Economic Development of Azerbaijan under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade of Uzbekistan on the initiative of President Islam Karimov and Ilham Aliyev.
According to preliminary results, the exhibition was visited by nearly one hundred thousand people and more than 40 letters of intent between the Azerbaijani and Uzbek companies have been concluded.
Special interest of visitors caused stands, which were presented to achieve the oil industry, including production of petroleum engineering. The visitors have also shown an active interest in the stands with electrical products, building materials, agricultural products, textile and food industries.
On the first day of the exhibition a cooperation was signed between the Azerbaijan Foundation for Export and Investment Promotion (Azpromo) and the Foundation for Foreign Economic Relations , Investments and Trade of Uzbekistan (Uzİnfoİnvest), Azerbaijan Investment Company (AIC) and Uzİnfoİnvest, the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan (CPA) Commerce and Industry Chamber of Uzbekistan (TPPU).
National Exhibition of Azerbaijan visited the Prime Minister Shavkat Mirziyayev who praised the opportunities for cooperation presented by the Azerbaijani side.
According to the Minister of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade of Uzbekistan Elyor Ganiev, an exhibition organized at a very high level will become a milestone in the development of economic relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, and the historically close relationship between our nations will receive a new impetus.
As reported, the exhibition pavilions have been placed on the territory of 4.5 thousand square meters. The exhibition was attended by over 170 enterprises and organizations in Azerbaijan. The exhibition showcased the country's achievements in socio-economic sphere, the areas of industry, energy, communications and information technology, transport, environment, tourism, culture, folk art, health, education, sports, and about 1, 7 thousand kinds of products Azeri production.
Under the agreement, in December this year National Exhibition of Uzbekistan will take place in Baku.
