A meeting with members of the Nobel's family society was held in Azerbaijani embassy in Sweden, said sources from the Azerbaijani embassy to Sweden
It was noted there that in his welcoming speech ambassador Rafael Ibrahimov informed about the presidential elections held in Azerbaijan and the re-election of Ilham Aliyev as the President of Azerbaijan.
"Through the first term of Aliyev's presidency, the country has attained high rates of economic growth, like the GDP rise by 36% in 2006. Such economic growth does not have analogues in the world practice", said Ibrahimov.
Moreover, the ambassador informed the meeting participants about the transport and energy projects, in which Azerbaijan is a party.
As for the ways of the resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Ibrahimov noted:
"Stability and security in the region will not be attained until the complete resolution of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno Karabakh".
At the same time, Ibrahim touched upon the joint cultural projects with the Nobel's family, which are to be implemented next year, including conduction of a large photo exhibition about the life of Nobel's brothers in Baku, in Sweden.
In the response speech, head of the Nobel's Family Society Tomas Tudene thanked for organization of the first meeting of the kind in the embassy and stressed importance of further cooperation between the society members with Azerbaijan. He especially stressed the importance and duration of the period, during which Nobels Brothers lived and worked in Baku.
Tudene also touched upon the visit of Nobel's family to Azerbaijan in April of 2008 and voiced hope that in the framework of the next visit to Baku, scheduled for September 2009, the Nobel's family members will be represented more widely.
