The 10th International Transport, Transit and Logistics Exhibition TransCaspian 2011 is planned to be held at Heydar Aliyev Sport and Exhibition Complex in Baku, Azerbaijan on June 16-18, 2011.
Transport industry of Azerbaijan
According to the report of Azerbaijani Transport Ministry, in 2008-2012 period Azerbaijan is going to invest around $1 billion in the development of the railways. The President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliev has announced the preparation of a program for the development of railways in connection with the anticipated traffic growth, which is expected after the finish of construction works of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway in 2009.
Azerbaijan was declared to be a leader among many other countries in the economy reforms. According to the Report Doing Business – 2009, prepared by the World Bank and the IFC, Azerbaijan rose from last year's 96th to 33rd place, making an unprecedented leap in the history of the Report among the ranked countries on the admissibility of business climate.
Within the nearest five-year governmental programme of regional development it is planned to strengthen further the road transport sector, as well as to intensify roads and bridges construction works, that play a pivotal role in the country’s development, and helps to strengthen the position of the State in this industry as a whole. Considering all these data, we can confidently say that Azerbaijan has become a leading country in terms of transport facilities and infrastructure.
